Tainan - Taiwan

Hello David, as planned I will get back to you as soon as we return.

Overall everything went well and we returned delighted from this 2-week trip.

More precisely :

The tour was dense but well balanced with varied places and visits and activities. However, after reflection we could have added a night in Liuqiu to better enjoy the sea and rest a little in the middle of the trip and remove a day in Taipei (which was a Monday so with many places closed)

The accommodations were very good, with a good point for the guesthouses in Taroko, Taishan and Liukiu. The other city hotels were very good, the one in Taitung with its baths in particular. In Taipei, the City Suites is very good, but the Midtown Richardson, although well located, really displeased us (tourist factory, impersonal and tiny room without a double bed and with a noisy air conditioning unit underneath). Ultimately, this is the only downside for this chapter

Finally, last but not least, our guide Steph. This was the first time we had a guide of this kind. Passionate about his adopted country, but with a critical eye on the island’s life and inhabitants. As the days went by, we were able to better understand the reality of a complex country in an equally complex geopolitical context. As Steph is also someone curious about everything and cultured, we had an interlocutor who left no room for boredom! He spared no effort to carry out the entire program, adapting it to our tastes and desires and going far beyond his mission. He accompanied us most often for dinners where it would have been difficult for us and introduced us to the rich gastronomy of the island. His company was pleasant and friendly and helped to make the long hours of transport pass.

In short, we were delighted to have him as our guide and driver, as were probably all his other clients.
