Here we present a 15-day itinerary for a unique way to discover Taiwan. Contrary to popular belief, the island can be explored at a leisurely pace. We understand that such a trip, far from the daily hustle and bustle, must also meet the need for vacation, rest, and well-being. The important thing isn’t to see everything, but to better relax and soak up the experience.
Taiwan will reveal its many facets to you, balancing guided tours, relaxation, and independent moments. You’ll swim with turtles on the tropical island of Liuqiu, hike the trails of Alishan through the tea plantations, enjoy a relaxing time at Sun Moon Lake, and explore the bustling port life of Kaohsiung.
Daily program: Come and recharge your batteries in Taiwan!
Day 1: Arrival in Taoyuan / Taipei
Arrive at Taipei/Taoyuan Airport. Clear immigration and baggage claim. Welcome by your English-speaking guide (they will have a sign with your name on it). If you wish, you can easily purchase a local SIM card at the dedicated counter in the main hall (the equivalent of 20 to 30 EUR depending on the validity).
Then, transfer to a beautiful teahouse, where your guide will introduce you to Taiwan and the details of your stay. Continue to your hotel in the heart of Taipei. Your room will be available from 3 p.m.
A little rest and time to refresh yourself, and stroll through the young and bustling district of Ximen, with its shops, its improvised street performances, its tattoo workshops and its multiple possibilities to eat day and night. You will continue towards the Longshan Temple, the oldest temple in the city and certainly the most beautiful, especially when it is illuminated by the moon and its discreet lighting once night falls. A very special atmosphere reigns here, in total contrast with the lively night market of Monga, a stone’s throw away (Guangzhou Street Night Market). This market has managed to remain authentic and frequented by the locals. You can improvise your dinner there (at your expense).
Overnight stay in Taipei at The Grand Hotel, a 5-star hotel with a pool. Built in 1952, the Grand Hotel faces the Keelung River like a 14-story palace, featuring an East-West fusion of architectural concepts, making it a beautiful expression of Chinese art based on modern Western architecture.

Day 2 : Taipei (PDJ)
Breakfast, then a day dedicated to discovering the sites and monuments that make the capital famous. Your day will begin with a stroll through the heart of Park 228 (Peace Park), where locals enjoy practicing Tai Chi, a true martial art, every morning in the park’s paths. A pleasant moment of tranquility in this green lung in the heart of the city.
You’ll then head to the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, an impressive monument dedicated to the great Chinese leader. The majestic hall overlooks over 25 hectares of landscaped gardens, graceful pavilions, and ponds. An imposing statue of the late president watches over the city from the main building. An elegant Ming-style arch at the main entrance is flanked by two classical-style buildings, the National Theater and the National Concert Hall.
The square between the two buildings is a popular gathering place for festive occasions, but also for simply strolling with the family or relaxing with a book after a long day of work. Then head to the Taipei Botanical Garden, which features over 1,500 plant species!
In the late afternoon, you’ll head to the unmissable Taipei 101, Taiwan’s tallest tower, with its underground shopping mall and numerous fine restaurants and cafes. The 89th floor will be your vantage point, offering a bird’s-eye view of the entire city.
If you wish, we can drop you off at the Shilin Night Market, located a 20-minute walk from your hotel. Overnight stay in Taipei, at The Grand Hotel 5* with swimming pool.

Day 3 : Taipei (PDJ)
Breakfast, then a completely free day in the capital, at your own pace. You can simply enjoy the services of your hotel, the pool and spa, or if you feel like it, discover the National Palace Museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of Chinese art treasures.
Not far from your hotel, you might also consider a walk (biking is possible) along Dajia Riverside Park. This park is an urban greening project inspired by an effort initiated by the city government to straighten the course of the Keelung River. The park is full of sports facilities for basketball, tennis, badminton, and croquet, and a cycle path several kilometers long along the riverbanks. Overnight in Taipei, at The Grand Hotel 5* with swimming pool.
Note: If you are in Taipei on a Saturday or Sunday, you can discover the city’s huge flower market!

Day 4: Taipei – North East Coast – Shifen – Yehliu – Jiufen – Beitou (PDJ)
This morning, meet your guide at 8:30 a.m. and we’ll set off to explore Shifen; it’s the widest and most spectacular waterfall on the entire island! We’ll then paint our wishes on a Chinese lantern that we’ll launch from the rails of the old town. Lunch is free in the fishing village of Guihou, before continuing with a visit to the Yehliu Geological Park, with its impressive rock formations created by erosion and other natural forces. Among the rocks, the Queen’s Head is one of the most famous! But once you’ve passed this very touristy spot, take the time to wander off to the peninsula.
Venture to the highest point and its magnificent view of the ocean and cliffs. Then we will end the day in Jiufen, a former mining town clinging to the mountainside, whose atmosphere inspired the famous manga “Spirited Away.” Today it is a veritable open-air market. Return to Taipei, and more precisely to the Beitou district located in a valley carved by a river at the origin of the hot springs of the region, and which are the main attractions. Installation and night at the Asia Pacific Hotel 5*, a zen establishment with Japanese influence, in a charming room equipped with tatami mats (subject to availability). Natural hot spring pools are available.

Day 5: Beitou - Yangmingshan National Park – Beitou (PDJ)
Breakfast, and then head north of Taipei, with Yangmingshan National Park on the agenda, the third largest national park in Taiwan. It boasts natural landscapes that change color with the seasons: flower fields in spring, snow-capped mountains in winter. During your visit to the park, you will have the opportunity to visit places where traces of volcanic activity can be found, but also the plains and hills of Qingtiangang as well as the flower fields of Zhuzihu. You will see the highest mountain in the park, the Seven Star Mountain (Qixingshan, 1120m)
– Hiking possible to the summit!
– Then return to Beitou, for a free end of the day.
Enjoy the services of your hotel and its baths. If you’re looking for a local experience, you can also relax in a public bath in the city (in your swimsuit or nude, depending on the location!). Overnight stay in Beitou at the 5-star Asia Pacific Hotel.

Day 6: Taipei – Lukang – Sun Moon Lake (B)
Today, we will leave the capital once again, heading towards Sun Moon Lake, via the coastal road. We will make a stop in Lukang. Lukang has the most beautiful temples in Taiwan, such as those of Longshan and Matsu, the goddess of the sea feared and respected by sailors from China and Taiwan. Its temples offer unique architecture, unrivaled on the island, and are definitely worth a visit. The streets of the old town are pleasant to explore on foot. The points of interest are generally surrounded by traditional pedestrian streets with many shops and small restaurants where you can enjoy seafood and other steamed buns filled with vegetables and/or meat (lunch at your own expense). Then we will head inland to Nantou and the shores of Sun Moon Lake. Check into The Lalu 5* hotel with swimming pool.

Day 7: Sun Moon Lake (B)
Breakfast, and a completely free day without a guide to enjoy the lakeside and relax at your hotel to enjoy its swimming pool with breathtaking views of the lake. You can, if you wish, rent bikes, and take a ride on the lake (private cruise or group). Activities at your own expense, to be paid on site. Night at the 5* The Lalu hotel with swimming pool.
