Just an hour’s ferry ride from Taitung Port, this little corner of paradise is far from a favorite travel destination. And yet, it has everything going for it. Upon arrival, you can rent a scooter to get around the island as you please (an 18-km road circles it). You can also go scuba diving amidst tropical fish and extremely well-preserved coral reefs. And why not relax in Taiwan’s only salty hot springs?
Visiting Lüdao means experiencing a small island cut off from the world (it is not the only one in Taiwan, see below), its small villages, its lighthouses, its infinite ocean… An excellent way to get away from the big cities and incessant activities for a few days.
