Introduction to Xiao LiuQiu Island
Like its counterparts Orchid Island and Green Island, Xiao LiuQiu offers an interesting escape from Taiwan’s big cities, a 1.5-hour journey from Kaohsiung (bus and ferry). The destination is perfect for those short on time, as it can be fully explored in just one day (the island is only 7 km2), with electric scooters available upon arrival. Fine sandy beaches, caves, delicious seafood… And even night tours for those wishing to stay the night if they wish. Xiao LiuQiu is worth the detour for travelers looking to spend a day or two outside of Taiwan’s already well-known circuits.
