Presentation of the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial
Considered the father of the nation and the great enemy of Mao’s Communist Party, Chiang Kai-Shek occupies a prominent place in the history of the island and the minds of the Taiwanese. This memorial, which was dedicated to him after his death, is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the man who was president of Taiwan until 1975 (the year of his death), particularly in the museum located under the square which traces his career.
A visit to the square also provides visitors with the opportunity to witness the changing of the guard, an unusual spectacle that takes place every day once every hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
How to get to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial?
