Introduction to the Maokong region
A small region nestled in one of the mountains bordering Taipei City, Maokong is known for its hills covered in tea fields, its mountain temples, its short hikes and its beautiful view of the capital, especially in the evening. Accessible by a cable car that flies over hills and mountains, it immediately transports you to a world difficult to imagine in other major cities in the world. Once you arrive at the top, you have the choice of either enjoying dishes flavored with matcha tea (fried rice, ice cream, etc.) or exploring the surrounding area, which can be done on foot.

How to get to Maokong?
Take Metro Line 1 (Wenhu Line) to the Taipei Zoo Terminal. Near the station is the Maokong Gondola.
