Introduction to Hehuanshan
Hehuanshan is arguably one of the few destinations in Taiwan where you’ll be able to see snow on the island. Located on the border between Nantou and Hualien in Taroko National Park, the mountain of harmonious joy offers various trails of varying difficulty. It therefore remains very accessible to beginner climbers despite its large size (3,422 meters for the highest peak).
What’s more, if you’re so inclined, you can spend the night there and, with a bit of luck, see the Milky Way in all its splendor.
The best way to get to Hehuanshan is from Taichung via Puli and Qingjing Farm.
