Lukang 鹿港

Some pictures of Lukang

Presentation of Lukang
Located a 30-minute bus ride southwest of Taichung, Lukang at first glance seems like just another small Taiwanese town. So how can we explain the crowds of visitors who flock there, especially during holidays and weekends? Quite simply because Lukang boasts some of Taiwan’s most beautiful temples, such as Longshan Temple and Matsu Temple, the sea goddess feared and respected by sailors from China and Taiwan. Its temples boast unique architecture, unparalleled on the island, and are clearly worth a visit.
Lukang is a pleasant place to explore (a day or even an afternoon is enough to see it all), whether on foot or by bicycle, which you can rent from the town’s visitor center. Its points of interest are generally surrounded by traditional pedestrian streets with many shops and small restaurants where you can enjoy seafood and other steamed buns filled with vegetables and/or meat.
