Presentation of Sun Moon Lake
According to legend, the lake looks like the Sun and the Moon embracing each other when seen from the sky. In any case, this is a must-see in Taiwan, with its 6 million annual visitors, and very popular with young married couples for their honeymoon. And rightly so: upon arrival (between 1h30 and 2h by bus from Taichung), the place impresses with its mountains surrounding the lake, and offers a delicious atmosphere, with its aboriginal population, its temple, its pagoda, its small villages and their guest rooms… A great opportunity for visitors to discover the history of the country and the customs of its oldest inhabitants, and also to taste local specialties (aboriginal alcohol, sticky rice with bamboo and wild boar meat on the menu).
The lake can be explored in a variety of ways, including on foot, by boat, by bicycle, and by cable car. This allows you to experience the beauty of the area from a new perspective each time.
